This very cute owl ornament was free on Kindle today, so I lucked out!Owls are one of my favorite creatures and collectibles so it was a natural match. I have reviewed the pattern and it's very clear. If you know how to do single crochet, chain stitch and crochet in the round, this should be easy.
Although most owls don't flock, there will be a grouping on my Christmas tree (just as soon as I finish the blanket, 2 scarves and a sock monkey). Maybe if I'm good Santa will bring some too ;-)
As a long time crocheter who has very limited discretionary funds, I might have had to pass on this one if the author hadn't blessed me with the free pattern today. If funds were not an issue, I would certainly purchase it. As far as the title goes: This author/designer shows actual pictures of the item(s) she shares, as do most crochet designers. Several items have been available recently where that is not true. This pattern is the real thing.

I think this is a great little book. The instructions are easy to follow and these owls are an ideal project for a novice and/or child. Small enough to keep the attention of a child, quick enough to do, and they can be finished off individually for the person they are made for.
These are the sort of things you see for sale in the shops and think "I could do that." Even though I have been chrocheting for many years I find myself drawn to them and can't wait to make one.
A fun idea for charities, school fundraising stalls and dare I say it, stocking fillers too!
Very simple crochet pattern. Easy to read. And the owl ornaments are super cute. Definitely recommend for a beginner who wants to impress.
